The 2017 QC competition has opened under the chairmanship of Sir Alex Allan, who succeeded Helen Pitcher. Changes designed to broaden the pool of applicants will enable candidates to draw on cases from the last three, rather than two, years and reduce by half the standard fee to apply for those with a gross fee income of £60,000 or less.
