From 3 April the Bar Standards Board became authorised to license alternative business structures. Since 2015, the regulator has licensed lawyer-only owned entities, but it will now be able to license legal service businesses that are owned jointly by lawyers and non-lawyers. A new edition of the BSB Handbook, with the rules for barristers and entities, was also published.
